Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Greeley County Health Services is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory tests and analyses that directly impact patient diagnosis, treatment, and care. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and laboratory scientists, you will ensure patient samples are processed efficiently, safely, and in strict compliance with clinical quality standards.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Conducts chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, and spinal fluid, to determine the presence of normal and abnormal components. Analyzes laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results. Enters data from analysis of medical tests and clinical results into Lab Computer system Sets up, operates, calibrates, cleans, and maintains equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis. Establishes and monitors quality assurance programs and activities to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results. Collects and studies blood samples to determine the number of cells, their morphology, or their blood group, blood type and compatibility for transfusion purposes. Manages and operates laboratory equipment safely and correctly. Analyzes samples of biological material for chemical content. Identifies patients and labels all specimens with correct information. Performs high-complexity testing. Responds appropriately to results with the status of STAT, call results, or timed specimens.

Education and/or experience must possess an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent AND successfully completed an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program. Must hold a current Medical Laboratory Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent). Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Must have strong computer knowledge. Must be willing to share in on-call shifts and weekends.

Compensation: $27.00 per hour
