Groundskeeper

Job Summary

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Groundskeeper who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining both indoor facilities and outdoor properties. This Groundskeeper position is perfect for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys variety in their day and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.

As a Groundskeeper, you'll play an important role in supporting facility maintenance, property upkeep, shop organization, and even assisting with farm and animal care. No two days are the same, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys diverse responsibilities and working in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Facility & Shop Support

• Perform general shop cleanup and janitorial duties.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment using 5S principles.
• Break down, sort, and repair pallets for reuse.
• Assist with painting, cleaning, and refurbishing machinery and equipment.
• Prepare equipment and surfaces for repairs and painting.
• Support building improvement projects including framing, painting, and minor repairs.
• Maintain loading docks, storage areas, and exterior workspaces.

Maintenance Support

• Assist maintenance personnel with machinery and facility repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Support basic machine maintenance activities.
• Help with facility upkeep including painting, light construction, and minor roof leak repairs.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lawn equipment, and other shop equipment.

Grounds & Property Maintenance

• Mow grass and maintain landscaping throughout the property.
• Trim, edge, weed eat, and apply weed control as needed.
• Maintain outdoor work areas, drainage systems, and facility appearance.
• Assist with seasonal landscaping projects and property cleanup.

Farm & Animal Care

• Clean animal pens and enclosures.
• Feed and water chickens and other animals.
• Collect eggs and assist with employee distribution.
• Help maintain farm areas and wildlife spaces.

Qualifications

Successful Groundskeeper candidates will have:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic repair skills.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and lawn equipment preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions while asking questions when needed.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Reliable transportation.

Previous experience in maintenance, landscaping, construction, farming, manufacturing, or industrial environments is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely learn and operate equipment such as forklifts and tractors.
• Work both indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
