Overview Department: Emergency Room Shift: Nights Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 12hr shifts – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Location: St. Mary's Medical Center – Blue Springs, MO The ER RN provides rapid and skilled care to patients who arrive at the hospital seeking emergency medical attention. ER nurses play a critical role in delivering emergent and urgent care to patients in the emergency department. Sign‑On Bonus Sign‑On Bonus Available for Qualified Candidates. Responsibilities If you have experience as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Care, Telemetry, or Emergency Department, you are encouraged to apply! Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care according to standardized triage protocols. Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain. In cases of severe illness or trauma, assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life‑saving interventions such as ACLS, PALS, and trauma care. Manage high‑stress and rapidly changing situations effectively; remain calm, focused, and decisive while caring for multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events. Educe patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions. Qualifications Current and valid state RN license. Current BLS certificate on hire and maintain current. Current ACLS certificate 30 days on hire and maintain current. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days on hire and maintain current. Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire. Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Facility‑specific requirements: In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire. Non‑OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days on hire and maintain current.
