Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Physical Therapist license issued by the state of Rhode Island
• Previous experience working in schools or with pediatric populations highly preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and special education requirements
• Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and school staff
• Flexibility and adaptability in meeting diverse student needs
• Proficiency with relevant documentation and progress tracking

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and establish therapy goals
• Develop and deliver tailored physical therapy interventions in both individual and group settings within the school environment
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to support student outcomes
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise on accommodations and modifications
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
• Educate and support school personnel on mobility, safe handling, and adaptive equipment usage
• Monitor and report progress, adjusting interventions as needed for optimal results
