Lecturer of Criminal Justice

Lecturer of Criminal JusticeKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Criminal Justice in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice with a preferred start date of August 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.Teach required undergraduate courses in the criminal justice program, with the opportunity to teach other upper level electives or specialty courses. Teach courses across varying modalities (face-to-face, hybrid and online) and class sizes (including large class sizes) on the Kennesaw and/or Marietta campuses. The normal workload distribution is 90% teaching and 10% service. The standard teaching load for a lecturer is 5/4 per academic year with the possibility of alternate workload structures for those engaged in High Impact Practices (HIPs) and/or large section teaching duties. Service to the Department, College, and University, including attending events related to the program, outreach to local community partners, and other activities related to the profession. Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Criminal Justice or a closely related discipline is required, or a Juris Doctor degree (JD). Experience teaching at the collegiate level.Experience teaching in a variety of modalities including Face-to-Face, Hybrid and Online. Experience in implementing active learning methods that facilitate meaningful engagement with students. Experience effectively teaching classes of over 100 students. Experience developing and designing online course materials, including instructional templates, learning activities, assessments, and other digital resources that support student learning and engagement.
