This hands-on, physically demanding role focuses on preparing and coating metal parts in a fast-paced, high-temperature production environment. You work with full protective gear, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency throughout the powder coating process.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for powder coating by pressure washing, scrubbing, and thoroughly cleaning all surfaces.
• Hang and rack metal parts securely for coating processes to ensure proper positioning and coverage.
• Load and unload materials from production lines in an efficient and safe manner.
• Apply masking, film, or other protective materials to parts as needed prior to coating.
• Assist with powder coating operations to achieve proper coverage, finish, and adherence to specifications.
• Inspect finished products carefully for quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety procedures and consistently wear required protective equipment, including a full suit.
• Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of metal parts as part of daily tasks.
• Work productively in a fast-paced environment while meeting production and quality targets.

Essential Skills

• At least 6+ months of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• At least 6+ months of experience with pressure washing and sanding.
• Hands-on experience with powder coating, industrial painting, or similar production work.
• Ability to lift, hang, and handle metal parts for powder coating.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in hot and humid conditions while wearing full protective gear.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and general labor tasks.
• Strong work ethic and comfort receiving direct feedback in a hands-on work setting.
• Ability to adapt quickly and remain focused in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
• Attention to detail to ensure quality and consistency in finished products.
• Reliability in following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in powder coating, industrial painting, or related production work is preferred.
• Experience with pressure washing, surface preparation, or manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Comfort working in physically demanding conditions that involve standing, lifting, and repetitive motion.
• Resilient, “thick-skinned” mindset with the ability to handle a direct communication style.
• Ability to contribute positively to a team-oriented production environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a hot, humid production setting with a weekend shift schedule from Saturday to Monday, 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You wear a full protective suit and gear at all times while working, and the position involves continuous standing, lifting, and repetitive movements. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, with high expectations for productivity and adherence to safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orange Park, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
