Director, Omics Enabling Platforms

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Director to build and lead an Omics Enabling Platforms organization integrating transcriptomics, automation, robotics, and agentic AI for drug discovery. The role combines deep omics expertise with strategic leadership to develop scalable, automated assay platforms and translate high-dimensional biological data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and scale transcriptomics and sequencing assays for discovery programs
- Design and deploy laboratory automation and robotic systems across sample processing and data acquisition
- Establish agentic AI strategy to automate experimental design, data interpretation, and knowledge capture
- Lead computational infrastructure including HPC, cloud pipelines, and multiomics data integration
- Lead and mentor an Omics Enabling organization across biology, engineering, and AI disciplines
Requirements
- PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, or related field with relevant publications
- 10+ years experience in omics platforms, cell biology, and computational biology
- Deep expertise in bulk and single-cell transcriptomics platform design and industrialization
- Demonstrated ability to extract biological insights from large-scale omics datasets
- Proven experience leading technical and scientific teams
- Knowledge of laboratory automation, robotics, and LIMS/ELN systems
- Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS/GCP/Azure) and workflow orchestration tools
