Frontend Staff Engineer

As a Staff Frontend Software Engineer , you will be the technical anchor for our frontend organization. This is not just a role for an expert coder; it is a role for a strategic thinker, an architectural pioneer, and a cultural catalyst. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, defining how XCEED builds user interfaces that are blazing fast, accessible, and highly maintainable.

You will report directly to the engineering leadership and work closely with Product, Design, and Cross-Functional Engineering teams to set the standard for frontend excellence.

What You Will Do

• Technical Strategy & Architecture:
  • Shape the long-term frontend architecture across our estate — a suite of plain-React applications and embeddable widgets, plus a Next.js (App Router) application.
  • Drive pragmatic evolution that scales with XCEED's growth.
• Core Infrastructure & Tooling:
  • Champion developer velocity.
  • Build and maintain shared libraries, design-token system, build/release pipelines, and CI/CD.
• Hands-on Delivery:
  • Stay close to the code and ship production frontend work directly.
  • Set the standard by example.
• Technical Leadership & Governance:
  • Establish frontend standards, best practices, and a rigorous-but-fast code-review culture.
  • Be the technical reference point for complex frontend challenges.
• Performance, Accessibility & Resilience:
  • Own Core Web Vitals, performance budgets, and accessibility (WCAG).
  • Focus on mobile-first design and traffic spikes.
• Mentorship & Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Elevate the engineers around you.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and backend to turn ambitious visions into technically sound, modular realities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software/frontend engineering, with a track record at Staff/Principal level or leading large-scale frontend initiatives end to end.
• Deep mastery of TypeScript and modern JavaScript, semantic HTML, and advanced CSS with a design-token / utility approach.
• Deep, production-proven React mastery.
• Strong experience with state management, caching, and data-fetching.
• Solid understanding of modern bundlers and CI/CD automation.
• Exceptional communication skills.

Requirements

• Experience building or maintaining a federated Design System used across multiple product lines.
• Contributions to open-source frontend projects or a presence in the tech community.
• Strong knowledge of web security best practices.
• Experience with WebAssembly, WebGL, or performance profiling using Chrome DevTools.
