Role Purpose

This is a clinical role at the center of Neko's dermatology pathway. Every member who receives an abnormal skin finding from their Neko scan will be seen, assessed, and triaged by this clinician determining whether findings can be reassured and discharged or require referral to a community dermatologist.

You will not be managing ongoing dermatology care or initiating treatment for complex skin conditions those cases go directly to a community dermatologist. You will be the clinical authority on whether a finding is actionable, and the person responsible for ensuring the right members reach the right specialist without delay.

  All abnormal skin scan findings are reviewed, interpreted, and triaged with accuracy and speed no member falls through the gap.

  Clear, structured clinical documentation is in place for every encounter, fully compliant with applicable state and federal requirements.

  Dermatology triage protocols are actively refined in collaboration with the Medical Innovation team, keeping pace with AAD guidelines and evolving US regulatory standards.

  A community referral network is established and maintained dermatologists and dermatopathology services across each market we operate in.

Responsibilities

Clinical Dermatology Triage and Follow-Up

\n
• \n

  Review all abnormal skin findings from Neko scans, including pigmented lesions, suspicious moles, and common skin cancers.

\n
• \n

  Interpret findings and triage as: reassure and discharge, monitor at next annual scan, or refer to community dermatology.

\n
• \n

  Maintain accurate, structured clinical documentation for every encounter in compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.

\n

Governance and Quality

\n
• \n

  Ensure dermatology triage decisions are consistent with Neko's clinical protocols, current AAD guidelines, and applicable US regulatory standards.

\n
• \n

  Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of US dermatology triage protocols, working with the Medical Innovation team.

\n

Referral Network Development

\n
• \n

  Build and maintain relationships with community dermatologists and dermatopathology services across markets.

\n

Minimum Requirements

\n
• \n

  MD or DO degree with completion of a dermatology residency from an ACGME-accredited program.

\n
• \n

  Board certification (or eligibility) in Dermatology (ABD).

\n
• \n

  Current licensure to practice medicine in New York State, in good standing with the NYSED.

\n
• \n

  Demonstrated ability to independently assess, triage, and manage skin lesions including pigmented lesions, suspicious moles, and common skin cancers.

• \n

  Proficiency with dermoscopy, or completion of an accredited dermoscopy training program prior to start.

\n
• \n

  Familiarity with AAD guidelines and their application to a preventive health population.

\n

Preferred

\n
• \n

  Dermoscopy certification (SDC, IDC, or equivalent).

\n
• \n

  Experience in a high-volume outpatient dermatology or preventive health setting.

\n
• \n

  Telehealth clinical experience.

\n
• \n

  Experience with AI-assisted diagnostic or imaging interpretation platforms.

\n
• \n

  Interest in or experience with health tech, preventive medicine, or direct-to-consumer healthcare models.

\n
• \n

  Multilingual Spanish particularly advantageous for the NYC market.

\n
• \n

  Multiple state medical licenses.

\n

We use a simplified internal title framework that prioritises clarity over hierarchy, so internal titles may differ from market?facing role titles. Scope, impact and level of the role are fully aligned and will be clearly discussed throughout the process.
