Job Title: Skilled Laborer (open to experience)

Job Description

This role involves performing a wide range of construction and general labor tasks in a precast concrete production environment. You will support concrete production, assist machine operators, handle materials, and complete various manual labor duties to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction labor tasks related to precast concrete pipe and structures.
• Handle concrete materials, including mixing, pouring, placing, and finishing as directed.
• Assist machine operators throughout the production process to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
• Operate or support the operation of production machinery and equipment as trained and instructed.
• Complete general labor duties such as cleaning work areas, removing debris, and maintaining a safe and organized job site.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, measuring, and assembly tasks.
• Perform basic carpentry-related tasks, including building or setting forms and structures as needed.
• Support landscaping or site-preparation activities associated with construction and production work.
• Measure materials accurately using a tape measure and follow specifications and instructions.
• Lift, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment safely, following proper lifting techniques.
• Work as part of a team to complete daily production goals and meet quality standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and report any hazards or issues promptly.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction labor, including tasks related to concrete and general labor.
• Hands-on experience working with concrete in a construction or production environment.
• general labor roles requiring heavy lifting and physical work.
• Ability to use hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, and other basic tools safely and correctly.
• Ability to use power tools safely and effectively in a construction or production setting.
• Basic carpentry skills, including working with forms, structures, or framing components.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for measuring materials and distances.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
• Willingness and ability to work in a team-oriented environment and follow instructions from supervisors and machine operators.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in concrete labor specifically within precast or construction settings.
• Previous experience assisting machine operators in a production or manufacturing environment.
• landscaping or outdoor construction work.
• Familiarity with both hand and power tools commonly used in construction and carpentry.
• Interest in learning heavy equipment operation and advancing into higher-responsibility roles within construction.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to consistent attendance.

Work Environment

This role is based in a precast concrete production and construction environment in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. You will work around concrete materials, production machinery, and outdoor or semi-outdoor conditions typical of construction and manufacturing facilities. The position involves heavy lifting, standing, bending, and manual labor throughout the shift. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and other construction equipment while working closely with machine operators and other team members. Safety gear and appropriate work attire suitable for a construction and production setting are required, and the work is consistent and steady throughout the year.

This is a Contract position based out of Ashland, VA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Ashland,VA.
