To accomplish these tasks the Maintenance Technician I must work closely with the staff and administration of Lexington City Schools This job reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance. Essential Functions Provide maintenance support to schools within the district Performbasic repairs to facilities and equipment as needed Assist with upkeep of grounds when assigned Assemble furniture Move furniture between buildings and offices Assist with plumbing, painting and general carpentry Installs bulletin boards and dry erase boards as needed Work overtime when emergencies arise to prevent the disruption of schools Perform additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor Operate and care for power equipment and hand tools Performs work assigned by work orders Performs all repairs in a professional and timely manneR Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or its equivalent Knowledge of general maintenance General knowledge in basic carpentry, plumbing is preferred Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks given Physical Requirements This work is considered heavy physical work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force Employees in this position are required to work in all kinds of weather conditions Must be able to perform under stressful conditions DISCLAIMER: The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
