Senior Design Engineer

DescriptionGeneral Information:Hitachi Energy is seeking a SeniorDesign Engineer for its Alamo, TN location.Your Responsibilities:Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development, test, installation, and service while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, Bill of Materials, and other pertinent information.Prepare specifications and related documents according to requirements, established formats, and general instructions. Review and analyze various engineering data, documents, and reports.Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend revisions as appropriate.Investigate technical problems and establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.General concentration of activities by allocating close to 40% of the time to customer focus and commercial orders, about 30% to product care, and 30% to operational troubleshooting and field support.Assist senior Engineers in preparing drawings/specifications, material and design selection, quotations, licensing and safety documents, and obtaining required approvals.Using state-of-the-art CAD, develop 2-D and 3-D models of components and assemblies for prototype, production, and retrofit builds as required.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance.Ability to learn basic numerical tolerance calculations and stack-up analysis.Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
