Job Description

The Registered Nurse is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for both direct and indirect patient care. In this role, the RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide daily care for patients aged 6-18 in an inpatient behavioral unit. The primary conditions treated include major depression and ADD/ADHD. Responsibilities include medication administration and education, daily documentation of patient care, and managing and monitoring behaviors throughout the unit. Additionally, the RN will lead and facilitate education groups for patients.

Job Requirements

Education

• Associates Degree in Nursing required
• Valid State of Maine RN license required
• BLS certification required

Experience

• 1-3 years of previous nursing experience working with adults preferred
• At least 1 year of previous nursing experience required
• CPI Training required

Other Skills Required

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers
• Aptitude for managing stressful situations and maintaining composure
• Strong professional boundaries
• Dedicated team player who is self-directed and proactive during downtime
