Additionally, the Specialist will regularly engage with the business stakeholder community, lead strategies to achieve optimal cost reduction, and ensure the management of supplier relationships and risk. This position is directly responsible for owning the relationships with key site and stakeholder leadership. The Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of sourcing strategies and collaboration with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs for Honda. The Specialist is accountable to identify, set, and manage metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery. The Specialist drives results through the creation and management of competitive bidding processes and analyzation of data and market trends. The Specialist is responsible to plan for the category, driving/implementing initiatives, communicating and influencing customers and suppliers at all levels. The Specialist must work collaboratively, exhibit a strong sense of urgency to meet customer timelines, exhibit an intense curiosity/learning drive, successfully operate in a fast-paced environment, engage/influence key stakeholders, be extremely customer-focused, and continuously develop their business acumen. Must be able to successfully manage multiple projects, as well as timely completion to meet the business’ objectives.Key AccountabilitiesExecute sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, and supplier selection in alignment with category strategies.Conduct basic market research to identify sourcing opportunities and supplier trends.Support cost analysis and spend reporting, identifying potential savings opportunities, and communicate Total Cost of Ownership to all stakeholdersResponsible to support supplier onboarding, risk management, and contract compliance.Meet category SEQCDM performance targets and measures, monitor progress and implement countermeasures when necessaryManage legal and commercial contracts, partner with internal stakeholders, and align contractual expectations with category strategies. Lead process improvement and business plan execution.Effectively execute stakeholder management to build a network of productive relationships across the organization to achieve category strategiesQualifications, Experience, and SkillsMinimum Educational Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field or equivalent experienceMinimum Experience:A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in either a Purchasing and/or Procurement related role or in a field where job knowledge & skills are applicable based on educationOther Job-Specific Skills:Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Familiarity with SAP, Ariba or major ERP system(s)Basic understanding of commercial terms / conditions and identifying / negotiating master agreement requirements; ability to identify engagement risk factors and ensure commercial contracts and legal agreements appropriately mitigate risk and protect Honda.Understanding of, and experience with, multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategiesAble to explain complex data in an understandable manner for a wide range of audiencesImplement long-term development strategies for categoryCommunication / negotiation skills for various audience levelsJob DimensionsNo. of Direct Reports: 0No. of Indirect Reports: 0Financial Dimensions: All intermediate category spend projects; business users’ budgets – analyze and reduce.
