Environmental Health and Safety SpecialistEssential Functions Statement(s)Delivers and deploy policies and procedures related to EHSAssist in record keeping and scheduling for all EH&S reportsMaintain SDS library by adding new chemicals as they are received or replace outdated sheets with the most current revisionsEnforce local, state and federal environmental regulationsTrain and direct employees to adequately comply with RCRA/hazardous waste management regulations in day-to-day operationsAssist in compliance audits with state and federal officialsMaintain record keeping database to ensure thorough organization and accessibility of compliance documentsPerform compliance audits on the shop floor to evaluate and define weaknesses in regulatory complianceSchedule appointments and intervals for chromium and respiratory physicalsLabel and sign appropriate hazards and chemical reactantsManage process for fit testing for respiratory protection programPerform routine inspections for emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, hoist and eyewash stationsAudit internal programs to determine the effectiveness to comply with industry standardsConduct routine compliance inspections and be able to document and implement corrective actionsPerform routine safety meetings and training activities with all staff levelsMaintain data and direct training/programs to comply with industry standardsEnsure air monitoring for Hexavalent chromium exposureSupport preparation for Quality, EHS, Production and HR related team meetings, Audits and trainingCreate simple training instructions on where and how to complete task, forms, processesEdit and proofread written pieces before publication and distributionTrack and assist with updating training as needed for approval and improvement effortsFacilitate training as neededQualificationsEducation: High School or better.Experience: 2+ years of experience in EH&SPreferred: 1+ year of experience in Aerospace Manufacturing preferred 2+ years of experience in Training
