Manager, Dam Safety Services Duties Under the general direction of the Assistant Division Manager Engineering, the chief of Dam Safety Services and the State Water Project (SWP) Manager Dam Safety Engineer provides direction and recommendations pertaining to dam safety issues at SWP dams. The role manages, prioritizes, and directs ongoing and special projects necessary to ensure the safe operation of SWP dams and reservoirs, and acts on behalf of the Assistant Division Manager Engineering. Minimum Requirements Principal Engineer Water Resources Minimum salary: $15,263.00 – $17,336.00 per month (or minimum alternate range for new to state candidates) Desirable Qualifications Knowledge and experience in managing dam safety projects and monitoring dam infrastructure. Ability to evaluate and prioritize dam safety risks and issues. Experience managing and integrating cross‑disciplinary teams. Establishing and maintaining relationships with dam safety regulators. Strong presentation and reporting skills to management. Participation in conference presentations and public forums. Special Requirements Successful completion of all safety training related to the functions of the job. Contributing to an inclusive, safe, and secure work environment that values diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences. Extensive travel throughout the State required. Authorized cyber or physical access to critical cyber assets, subject to a satisfactory background check prior to appointment and every seven years thereafter.
