This role involves hands-on work, including constructing hardscape structures and features, planting, mulching, mowing, irrigation system installation, grading, watering, fertilizing, trimming, harvesting, seeding, pest control application, event preparation, and general upkeep of outdoor spaces. The laborer works under the direction of the Landscape Supervisor, adhering to project plans and safety standards while ensuring high-quality results.Duties/Responsibilities:Clear and prepare the site by removing debris, rocks, and unwanted vegetationGrade and level ground surfaces to prepare for planting or hardscapingAssist in the installation of erosion control measures if requiredPlant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other greenery according to landscape designsMaintain plants by watering, pruning, and weedingApply pesticides, fertilizer, or herbicides under supervisionLay sod, seed lawns, or install artificial turf as requiredAssist with the construction and installation of walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other hardscaping elementsSpread gravel, mulch, or decorative stones around landscaped areasPerform carpentry or masonry tasks to support amenity and hardscape installationInstall and repair irrigation systems, including pipes, valves, and sprinkler headsTest systems for proper operation and troubleshoot issues under supervisionOperate and maintain landscaping tools and machinery, such as:skid steers, tractors, and backhoesMowers, trimmers, and blowersTillers, edgers, and compactorsSmall excavators or other construction equipmentEnsure tools are cleaned, stored properly, and in good working conditionKeep job sites clean, safe, and organized during and after workAssist in the setup and removal of project materials and equipmentTransport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites as neededFollow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesReport any safety hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to supervisorsAssist supervisors and team members with tasks as directedHelp measure and mark areas for installations according to design plansProvide general labor support for landscaping projectsOperate equipmentOther duties as assignedEducation/Certifications/Licenses:EducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredCertificationsOSHA 10 or ability to obtainLicensesDriver's LicenseCommercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plusExperience:Experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, construction, or outdoor manual laborPrevious experience in the following:Planting, mowing, pruning, or weedingOperating basic landscaping tools (e.g., trimmers, mowers)Assisting with irrigation systems or hardscape installationsExperience operating landscaping machinery such as skid steers, compactors, or tillersFamiliarity with installing and maintaining sprinkler systemsExperience applying fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticidesFamiliarity with working outdoors in varying weather conditionsRequired Skills/Abilities:Works well with others and has patience for fast-paced changesInterest in learning new skills and updated practicesExperience constructing hardscape and softscape landscape featuresFamiliarity with proper planting, irrigation system installation, pruning, mowing, and lawn care techniquesUnderstanding of soil management, plant care, and seasonal landscaping needsAbility to safely operate and maintain basic landscaping tools and heavy equipmentBasic knowledge of irrigation systems, including installation, augmentation, and repairAbility to assist with hardscape installations, such as patios, retaining walls, shade structures, art, and pathwaysAbility to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs or more), digging, and repetitive motionsComfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)Skilled in handling tools and performing tasks with precisionAbility to move efficiently on uneven terrain and around obstaclesAbility to work collaboratively and proactively with supervisors and team members to complete tasksWillingness to take direction and adapt to team needsClear and respectful communication skills to understand instructions and provide feedbackAwareness of safety protocols and ability to follow them rigorouslyProper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, eye protection, and helmetsConsistently showing up on time and ready to workAbility to complete assigned tasks within set deadlines while maintaining high quality and attention to detailAbility to troubleshoot minor issues, such as equipment malfunctions or unexpected challenges on-siteWillingness to adjust to changes in project plans or prioritiesAbility to perform minor maintenance on landscaping tools and equipmentStrong work ethic and a positive attitudePhysical, Mental Demands/Working Environment:Physical DemandsHeavy Work.
