Primary Care Physician – Outpatient

Location: Birmingham or Pell City State License: AL

HealthPlus Staffing is seeking a compassionate Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join a physician-led, value-based primary care organization. Opportunities are available across multiple locations.

This position offers a predictable outpatient schedule, manageable patient volume, strong clinical support, and the autonomy to focus on delivering high-quality care.

Position Highlights

100% outpatient primary care
Monday–Friday schedule
Average patient volume: 17 patients per day
Adult, senior-focused, or mixed patient population
Emphasis on preventive care and chronic disease management
Physician-led environment with strong clinical autonomy
Team-based support from medical assistants, care coordinators, and administrative staff
Reduced administrative burden
EMR: Athena
No inpatient responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $220,000–$240,000
Productivity and quality-based incentives

Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completed residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Board Certified or Board Eligible
Active or eligible to obtain an AL license
Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one

Depending on the location and patient population, physicians may participate in programs such as:

Chronic Care Management
Transitional Care Management
Diabetes management
Preventive health and wellness initiatives
