Step into a dynamic high school environment as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist, supporting students aged 14–21 with diverse communication needs. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a setting that welcomes expertise, compassion, and innovation. The caseload features students diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other genetic conditions, many of whom are non-verbal and benefit from AAC devices and alternative communicative strategies.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Valid SLP license or eligibility to practice in New York
• Experience or strong interest in serving students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Familiarity with AAC devices and technology-based communication supports
• Team-oriented mindset, with excellent communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct speech-language therapy, individually and in small groups, to high school students
• Evaluate, select, and implement AAC and alternative communication methods tailored to each student
• Work collaboratively with special education staff, classroom teachers, and related service professionals
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of communication goals and progress monitoring
• Provide training and support for staff and families in communication strategies and AAC use
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records as required
