Technical Support Specialist

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an IT Support Specialist for a well-established organization with a collaborative team and operations across multiple locations. This is a 6 month contract-to-hire, onsite position based in Woodland, CA .


POSITION OVERVIEW:


The IT Support Specialist will provide hands-on technical assistance to approximately 500 employees working across multiple locations. This position will resolve Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, software, and connectivity issues while supporting employee onboarding and ongoing technology improvements. The role also offers opportunities to expand your experience with networking, conference-room technology, physical security systems, and technology used in operational environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide timely and professional technical support for Windows users, including hardware, software, Microsoft 365, account access, and connectivity issues.
• Manage incoming support requests, prioritize issues based on urgency and business impact, document resolutions, and escalate complex concerns appropriately.
• Support employee onboarding by preparing computers, configuring approved accounts and applications, and verifying equipment is ready for use.
• Assist with LAN/WAN equipment, servers, conference-room technology, software updates, and other infrastructure projects under the guidance of senior IT team members.
• Help maintain physical security technology, including servers, controllers, IP cameras, and related equipment.
• Support operational technology, including PLCs, HMIs, and connected devices, while coordinating authorized changes with Operations and technical system owners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional information technology, helpdesk, desktop support, or end-user support experience.
• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting computers, applications, hardware, and user accounts in a Windows environment.
• Working knowledge of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, switches, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and recognizing issues that may involve account or information security.
• Strong communication, customer service, organization, and documentation skills when assisting users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and interest in learning networking, physical security, industrial technology, and broader IT infrastructure.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:


This position offers a competitive compensation of $33-38/hr W2 (DOE) plus medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week.
