Institutional Investment Consulting AssociateWe are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role can be based in Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Irvine, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Seattle, Southfield, or St. Louis and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.As an Institutional Investment Consulting Associate, you will play a key role in supporting investment advice for a diverse range of institutional clients and collaborating with experts to build portfolios, evaluate asset managers, and analyze portfolio performance. You'll ensure clear communication of critical updates and assist in managing consulting relationships through meeting coordination, project management, and timely delivery of reports. This is a dynamic opportunity to develop deep industry knowledge while contributing to impactful client outcomes!We will count on you to:Examine and monitor developments at investment management firms and communicate relevant updates to clientsManage projects by ensuring timely, high quality client deliverables, delegating work to analysts, providing guidance, and ensuring peer reviewThrive and be motivated by an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled toolsProduce accurate and detailed client reports through analysis of client-specific investment data, ongoing investment performance, and manager monitoringLiaise with investment managers and custodians to gather and clarify client-specific data for reporting or any other client-related mattersSupport investment manager searches, investment structure reviews, mutual fund selection, asset allocation studies, new business presentations, and other investment-related activitiesParticipate in quarterly or ad-hoc client meetingsAnalyze and edit investment policy statements and conduct strategic portfolio structure and asset allocation analysisWhat you need to have:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with coursework in business or investment-related courses2-5 years of relevant investment experienceActively pursuing or willing to obtain the CFA, CAIA, CIMA, or CIPM designationKnowledge of performance calculations, risk metrics, and portfolio constructionSelf-motivated and effective in a highly collaborative team environmentAbility to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing, dynamic settingStrong analytical, project management, and communication skillsHigh-level attention to detail and an understanding of its impact on the bigger pictureCommitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and market conditionsAdaptability and decisivenessProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointWhat makes you stand out?Familiarity with a variety of institutional clients and plan typesWhy join our team:We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact on colleagues, clients, and communities.Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.The applicable base salary range for this role is $67,000 to $134,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
