Arrhythmia Technician | Telemetry Monitor Specialist

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your skills as an Arrhythmia Technician will play a vital role in patient care. This full-time position on the P-Shift involves continuous observation of telemetry monitors and performing essential clerical duties within the patient care unit. You will be the key communication hub at the nursing station, ensuring smooth operations and patient safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols, including infection prevention measures. Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, identifying and documenting any significant changes. Ensure all cardiac monitoring equipment is functioning properly and promptly notify trained personnel if issues arise. Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient rhythm changes or monitoring difficulties. Perform clerical tasks such as filing, printing, copying, charge entry, and supply ordering to support unit operations. Maintain accurate patient logs and ensure all documentation is properly labeled and prepared for scanning. Manage the return of monitoring equipment following patient transfers or discharges. Measure and record telemetry strip data including rate, PR interval, QRS, QT interval, and rhythm every four hours or as needed. Keep patient information boards current and answer phones with professionalism and excellent customer service skills. Coordinate with ancillary departments to schedule tests and procedures. Adapt positively to changes and uphold organizational values in appearance, behavior, and attendance. Education High school diploma or GED is required. Experience At least one year of experience in clerical, receptionist, or hospital duties is preferred. Strong organization, time management, typing, and basic computer skills are essential. Certification Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia course upon hire is required. Mental and Physical Requirements This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Expect frequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals.
