POSITION SUMMARYThe Banquet Set Up primary role is to prepare and organize all attributes for special functions and events, while ensuring Brand Standards and Banquet Department operating procedures are being followed. The Banquet Set Up will help with event preparation and clean up the area being used for an event.Weekends required.Must have flexable availabiltyESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESSet up and breakdown banquet meeting space per Event Order instructions, including tables, table complements (salt, pepper, sugar, breadsticks, etc.), table linens, table settings, center pieces, dishes, audio-visual equipment, and all other event provisions.Help with expected demand preparations, Table setting, utensil-plating, and center piecesAssist Banquet Manager with any pre-event needs.Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of banquet spaces, before, during and after events.Provide excellent customer service to all guests that you may come in contact with.Communicate with Banquet Manager as well as other banquet staff.See to the comfort of guests by making sure that all pre-event needs are taken care of.Double check all documentation to make sure every aspect of event is correct.Hold to company and Brand standards.Support other staff to ensure guest satisfaction.Observe Health Department guidelines for food handling and sanitation.Manage audio-visual equipment needed for all events.Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management. All other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo direct supervisory responsibilities. JOB REQUIREMENTSCustomer Service-centric.Knowledge of catering practices.Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment.Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, staying on your feet for extended periods of time, climbing stairs, carrying heavy weights.Can work on own as well as part of a team.Performs work well with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.Able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.Maintains a good energy level despite demands of the day.Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information.Clear and thorough communication skills.Excellent problem-solving skills.Ability to follow directions thoroughly and work with minimal supervision.Willing and able to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays; available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.Must be able to handle a crisis in a calm, effective manner. This includes upset guests, fire, tornado, armed robbery and assault, bomb threats and accidents. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School education or GED required to accomplish the essential functions of this job.
