The Department of Pharmacy, consistent with the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine, places a priority on teaching, research and patient care. At Johns Hopkins Hospital, the department is responsible for providing acute care pharmacy services for a diverse population of medical, surgical, oncology, and pediatric patients, with additional services provided within the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and affiliated clinics. Within the department, there are 70 acute care and primary care clinical pharmacy specialists as well as 32 general and specialized pharmacy residents.

The Clinical Pharmacist II serves in the Adult Medicine, Emergency, and Surgery Pharmacy Division which provides comprehensive pharmacy services to all adult patients at JHH with the exception of oncology patients. This Clinical Pharmacist II is responsible for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to promote the safe and effective use of medications during the medication order review and verification process as well as addressing clinical pharmacy questions and concerns.

With PGY2 training in cardiology or commensurate experience, the Clinical Pharmacist II in Cardiology will participate in multidisciplinary rounds on a rotating basis (approximately 25% of the time), serving as the medication expert helping to manage the complex pharmacotherapy regimen of each patient. Additional responsibilities for this position include interdisciplinary decision making, medication management, care coordination, drug information response, committee involvement, policy/procedure development, research activities, and education to students, residents, pharmacists, other health care practitioners and patients and family members.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm D. or BS degree.
• Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 residency program or equivalent experience is required.
• Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-2 Cardiology residency program or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required.
• Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or a certification deemed appropriate for the practitioner's practice setting by Division Director is required within 2 years of start date.
• Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired.

Salary Range: Minimum $55.41/hour - Maximum $91.50/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
