Accounts Payable Specialist

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $28.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy and proper authorization before processing.
• Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 forms and payment terms, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Review and process employee expense reimbursements in compliance with organizational policies.

Requirements

• Demonstrate proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for AP functions.
• Apply strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage high-volume invoice processing.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve inquiries and discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and grant requirements for allowable costs and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes and improve efficiency through automation or best practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience; nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
• Exhibit strong knowledge of AP procedures, expense reporting, and vendor management practices.
• Display excellent time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Show capability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities and processes.
