Technical Sales Manager

Job DescriptionI’m currently working on a Technical Sales Manager – Structures opportunity with a global Tier-1 automotive supplier serving major OEM customers.\n\nLocation: Novi, Michigan\nWork Arrangement: On-site, 5 days/week\nType: Full-Time | Direct Hire\nTravel: Up to 10% domestic & international\n\nMUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE\nWe are specifically looking for candidates with:\nFord experience - Ford as a customer OR previous experience working for Ford\nAutomotive structures/component experience, such as:\n• Bumpers\n• Crash components\n• Brackets\n• Frames\n• Fascia\n• Body panels\n• Stamped components\n• Extrusion components\n• Suspension components\nMetal/component manufacturing experience, particularly:\n• Steel\n• Aluminum\n• Stamped / formed metal components\n\nEngineering degree — Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering preferred/required\nCommercial / Technical Sales experience within the automotive industry\n7+ years of automotive technical sales experience with a Tier-1 supplier or equivalent organization\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n• Serve as the primary commercial interface between manufacturing/engineering teams and OEM customers\n• Develop and lead customer relationships and commercial discussions\n• Lead quoting activities, proposals, and commercial negotiations\n• Identify and pursue new business opportunities\n• Attend customer meetings and represent the manufacturing organization\n• Support technical reviews, open-issues meetings, and program activities\n• Develop customer technical review presentations\n• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and global teams to support successful project execution\n\nADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE\nExperience with the following is highly relevant:\n• Automotive OEM processes and systems\n• GD&T\n• DFMEA\n• PPAP / PSW\n• QOS\n• CAD knowledge\n• Customer-facing technical presentations\n• Quoting / commercial negotiations\n• New business development\n\nThis is a high-visibility opportunity combining technical engineering knowledge, automotive structures expertise, customer management, and commercial responsibility within a global Tier-1 automotive organization.
