Registered Nurse - Operating Room

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR) to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care. This role requires strong clinical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures. Assess, monitor, and document patient status throughout the perioperative process. Assist surgeons and surgical teams during operations by maintaining a sterile environment. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Ensure adherence to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards. Monitor patients for signs of complications and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Coordinate patient care activities with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post‑operative care. Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities. Required Qualifications Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience, or equivalent clinical experience as required. Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, sterile techniques, and patient safety standards. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure surgical environment. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Experience in a hospital, ambulatory surgery center, or specialty surgical setting. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ability to scrub and circulate in multiple surgical specialties. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Preferred Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) - Preferred Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Preferred, if applicable to the facility or specialty area. #J-18808-Ljbffr Compunnel, Inc.
