Varsity Head Softball Coach

Position Overview Davidson Academy is seeking a Christ‑following, motivated, organized, detail‑oriented head softball coach. Davidson Academy is an Infant‑12th grade Christian private school located in Nashville, TN. Serving a diverse student population from Davidson County and the surrounding counties, we believe in Biblical‑based instruction that prepares students for college, life, and eternity. Player Development and Team Culture Plan and conduct practices to install offensive/defensive systems and improve fundamental skills. Analyze game footage and statistics to develop scouting reports and game strategies. Mentor and provide guidance to help students grow as athletes and individuals of character. Foster a positive team culture rooted in Christian principles like integrity, discipline, and teamwork. Motivate players to achieve their full athletic and academic potential. Game Management Oversee all aspects of home games including event staffing, facilities, equipment, etc. Coordinate transportation, lodging, and schedules for away games/tournaments. Manage practices and direct players during games, making necessary adjustments. Demonstrate knowledge of rules, coaching strategies, and skill instruction. Model good sportsmanship and represent Davidson Academy with integrity. Program Administration Act as an ambassador for the softball program to prospective student‑athletes. Supervise and delegate responsibilities to assistant coaches and team managers. Manage program equipment inventory and submit budget requests annually. Adhere to all school, division, and state policies governing athletics programs. Additional Requirements and Preferred Skills Proven ability to teach softball fundamentals and run strategic practices. Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and mentor student‑athletes effectively. Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills for scheduling and administration. Commitment to prioritizing academic achievement and personal character development. Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and completion of required coaching courses. Availability for practices, games, and occasional travel with evening/weekend hours. Support for and alignment with Davidson Academy's Christian values and mission.
