As an Automotive Repair Assistant Manager you will play a key role in daily shop operations—leading service department activities, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring every customer receives exceptional service. Location 5977 Harrison Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45248 Compensation and Schedule Base salary: $51,287 – $71,993 per year (actual pay based on experience, location, and performance). Eligible for monthly incentive pay tied to store sales and overall performance. Full‑time, 5 days per week. Saturdays are part of the regular schedule. Each week includes one scheduled day off during the week and Sundays off. Additional schedule adjustments may be made based on business needs and approved time off. Position Overview This role oversees all Service Department functions, ensuring the store operates efficiently and aligns with AAA Car Care standards. You will be responsible for sales of automotive parts and services, managing production, quality, and professional development of Service Advisors and sales associates, and driving customer satisfaction and profitability. Responsibilities Supervise and mentor Repair Technicians and Service Advisors; assist with hiring, evaluation, training, and development. Verify all repairs and maintenance are completed accurately and professionally, re‑test systems and road‑test vehicles as needed. Communicate with customers, ensuring timely updates and accurate repair permissions and agreements; help explain repair recommendations. Organize workflow to maximize efficiency in vehicle movement, parts procurement, and overall job functions. Act as store manager in the Manager’s absence: create estimates, work orders, and assist at the sales counter. Open and close the store, ensuring proper scheduling and operations. Ensure continuous implementation of Car Care policies, OSHA, M.A.P., State, and Hazmat regulations; maintain a clean, safe work area. Complete paperwork accurately, including repair information on work orders and state/emission inspection details. Monitor workflow and communicate wait times and productivity to Service Advisors and Sales Associates. Keep up to date with automotive products, attend meetings and seminars as recommended, and enhance customer experiences. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (equivalent education and experience may be considered). Minimum 4 years of experience in the automotive repair industry. Valid operator’s license. Preferred: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. Positive pre‑ and post‑employment screening results. Skills and Abilities Strong organizational and analytical skills. Effective written and oral communication. Ability to interact effectively with peers and customers. Advanced knowledge of PC‑based automotive diagnostic software. Customer‑service orientation; ability to refer customers to associate services such as Car Care, Travel, Insurance, Membership, Discounts, and Financial Services. Flexibility to adjust work schedule and priorities to meet business needs. Working Conditions The role requires working in an automotive shop environment. Noise levels may be loud; exposure to dust, fumes, temperature changes, and automotive tools is expected. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for prolonged periods. Dexterity and fine and gross motor skills are required.
