Surgery - Thoracic Physician

Locums Cardiac Surgery Paducah, KY (any state license accepted) Why This Role

• Any state license accepted (KY obtained during credentialing)
• 24-hour call, 4-7 shifts/month
• Board certified
• Dedicated CT anesthesia team and endoscopic vein harvest first assist
• Light surgical volume (1-2 cases/day)
Assignment Details
• Start/end: Must be available for one block - 12/24-12/28 (first preference, prioritized) or 12/28-1/4
• Schedule: 24-hour shifts (7a-7a); 4-7 shifts/month
• Coverage type: Hospital-based, call only
• Volume: 1-2 CT surgical cases/day; 30,000 annual ER volume; 1 heart OR, 1 hybrid OR
• Setting: Adult and geriatric; dedicated CT anesthesia team, collaborative ICU
• Support: First assist with endoscopic saphenous vein harvest experience; focused anesthesia team; helpful ICU
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing: 90 days
Clinical Details
• Required scope: Adult cardiac surgery - CABG (arterial revascularization using IMA, radial artery; redo cases), heart valve repair/replacement; ICU management of high-risk cases (Impella insertion/removal/bailout, medical management of critically ill patients); structural heart procedure support in hybrid OR/cath lab. Heavy cardiac focus required
• Preferred scope: General thoracic surgery (tube thoracostomy, tracheostomy, bronchoscopy, VATS decortication/lung biopsy, pericardial window)
Requirements
• Board certified in Cardiac/Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Impella support and structural heart support (hybrid OR/cath lab) required
• License: any state accepted (KY obtained during credentialing)
• BLS
• Active DEA
Compensation
• Rate negotiable, open to your number
