Position Title: Behavioral Health RN

Location: Columbus, OH 43210

Duration: 13 Weeks

Work Schedule: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Pay rate: $60-$54/hr.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and mental health assessments of patients.
• Monitor patients for changes in mood, behavior, cognition, and mental status.
• Administer and monitor psychiatric medications, including evaluating effectiveness and side effects.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and respond to psychiatric emergencies.
• Assess patients for suicidal ideation, self-harm, and other safety risks.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Provide therapeutic communication, emotional support, and patient education.
• Monitor patients with conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, and substance-use disorders.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, NPs, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and progress accurately in the EMR.
• Special Procedures/Unit Details: Float pool for 4 inpatient psychiatric units with varying acuities including: 24 bed unit with mild medical acuity serving some geriatric patients, 24 bed unit with high psychiatric acuity serving primarily psychotic disorders, 18 bed unit specializing in young adults, 18 bed unit with high psychiatric acuity serving primarily psychotic disorders. Staff will utilize trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and aegis to manage patients safely. Restraint and seclusion utilized per state laws to maintain safety of patients and staff.
