Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Manage and monitor patients requiring stepdown/progressive care level interventions including chest tubes, femstops, trachs, continuous bladder irrigations, drains, and central lines.
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drip medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system for documentation and care coordination.
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed.
• Participate in holiday coverage, including working 1–2 of 3 designated summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of previous stepdown or progressive care unit experience required.
• Active Illinois RN state license required; Iowa RN state license required upon offer.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Candidate must have a taxable home address located more than 50 miles from the facility.
• Must not have been employed by the client facility within the last 12 months.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing contract completed preferred.
• Experience working in a Level 1 trauma center environment preferred.
