CNC Machinist Trainee

SUMMARY Under supervision, operate CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following however, other duties may apply.) Entry Level classification to be maintained through the (90) Day Probationary Period, or until the abilities of a higher classification level are demonstrated. Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner with assistance from an assigned Trainer or Lead Man. Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills. Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery. Properly and safely loads and unloads castings and raw materials. Reads and interprets blueprints with assistance. Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements with assistance. Promptly contacts the Trainer or Lead Man when tool offsets or other adjustments are required. Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures with assistance. Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures as instructed. Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions. Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management. Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input. Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant. Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills. Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with assistance from the Trainer or Lead Man. Strong attention to detail and concern of importance. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques. One year of experience and /or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or GED preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Employee/applicants who receive offers of employment will be tested for controlled substances as a pre-condition for employment. The sample collection and testing will be for controlled substances. A positive test result for controlled substances will render an applicant disqualified for employment. Negative and positive results will be reported to CSJB Holdings, Inc. If the results are positive, the controlled substance will be identified. The results will not be released to any other parties without an applicant's written authorization. CSJB Holdings, Inc. will investigate applicants background and qualifications for purposes of evaluating whether an applicant is qualified for the position for which they are applying. CSJB Holdings, Inc. will utilize an outside firm or firms to assist it in checking such information, and applicants specifically authorize such an investigation by information services and outside entities of the company's choice.
