PLEASE APPLY DIRECTLY THROUGH OUR INTERNAL WORKDAY CAREER SITEJoin Our Community of Food People!BASIC PURPOSE To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.Job Description**JOIN OUR FLEET TEAM!**Tool allowance included to support your trade.**Our Diesel Mechanics start at $40–$42.00/hour depending on experience!** * **401K with 2% automatic company contribution plus company match up to an additional 6%.*** **Medical Benefits Start Day One!*** **Low-cost Medical, Dental, and Vision for Family Coverage.*** **Paid vacation time, sick, and personal time.*** **Employee uniforms provided.*** **Strong Safety Culture, newer equipment, and excellent local leadership.**Schedule: 10am Start time**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel reefer equipment (THERMO KING & CARRIER TRAILER REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS, Reefer Microprocessors, etc.).* Perform preventative maintenance within manufacturer standards.* Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.* Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.* Utilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.* Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.* Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.* Other duties as assigned by manager.**SUPERVISION**:* N/A**RELATIONSHIPS*** **Internal:** All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators and Manager.* **External:** Dealer Service Managers.**WORK ENVIRONMENT*** **Onsite**: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*** Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician. TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.* Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.* Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.* Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.* Must furnish own personal hand tools.* Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals.**EDUCATION*** High school diploma or equivalent required.**CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING*** EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) & EPA 609 Certifications**LICENSES*** Must possess a valid driver’s license.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA & DOT regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.* Computer and software experience/ Noregon Diag Equip/A/C Recovery, Etc.* Able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.* Welding ability* Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification**PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS**OCCASIONALLY: 1% - 33 / FREQUENTLY: 34% - 66% / CONTINUOUSLY: 67% - 100% or NEVER**JOB REQUIRES WORKER TO:****FREQUENCY:**STAND: CONTINUOUSLYWALK: CONTINUOUSLYDRIVE VEHICLE: FREQUENTLYSIT: FREQUENTLYLIFT1-10 lbs (Sedentary): FREQUENTLY11-20 lbs (Light): FREQUENTLY21-50 lbs (Medium): FREQUENTLY51-100 lbs (Heavy): FREQUENTLYOver 100 lbs (Very Heavy): OCCASIONALLYCARRY1-10 lbs (Sedentary): FREQUENTLY11-20 lbs (Light): FREQUENTLY21-50 lbs (Medium): FREQUENTLY51-100 lbs (Heavy): OCCASIONALLYOver 100 lbs (Very Heavy): OCCASIONALLYPUSH/PULL 1: FREQUENTLYCLIMB/BALANCE 2: FREQUENTLYSTOOP/SQUAT: FREQUENTLYKNEEL: FREQUENTLYBEND: FREQUENTLYREACH ABOVE SHOULDER: FREQUENTLYTWIST: FREQUENTLYGRASP OBJECTS 3: FREQUENTLYMANIPULATE OBJECTS 4: FREQUENTLYMANUAL DEXTERITY 5: FREQUENTLY1 (Push/Pull: Hand truck, gate, straps, metal ramp, truck door, dolly, boxes, truck gear shift)2 (Climb/Balance: In/Out Truck/Trailer to cab.
