Job Overview Tool Room Machinist 1st Shift – Chardon, OH Responsibilities Set up and operate grinders (outside diameter, inside diameter, and surfaces) Create, edit and optimize CNC lathe programs (G‑code and/or conversational) Set up and operate manual and CNC mills Set up and operate band saws and cut saws Set up and operate CNC lathes (tooling, work holding, offsets) Set up and operate manual lathes Perform miscellaneous layout and handwork Work quickly and accurately under time constraints Verify conformance of finished workpiece(s) to specifications using various measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers Key Qualifications Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Detail-oriented to check work for accuracy and safety Experience with MIG & TIG welding (a plus) Experience with Gibbs Cam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks (a plus) 5 years’ experience in tool room machine shop environment required Skilled in operating a variety of tooling machines Shift & Hours 1st shift: 5:45AM to 4:15PM, Monday to Thursday. Overtime available. Compensation $25 to $33 per hour, DOE. Rate increase may occur after proficiency in certain skills and fulfillment of training. Physical Requirements Standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting and lowering weights up to 50lbs.
