Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Hospitalist

Join an expanding, high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) dedicated to caring for critically ill patients with congenital and acquired heart disease. As a front-line CICU Hospitalist, you will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary model to develop and execute complex care plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: Serve as the primary, front-line provider—responding to bedside inquiries, entering orders, communicating with consultants, and updating families.
• Care Coordination: Partner with Cardiology, Heart Failure, and Cardiac Critical Care Attendings to ensure clinical plans are implemented efficiently.
• Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Work alongside fellows, APPs, and trainees, providing clinical education and escalating care concerns when appropriate.
• Operational Flexibility: Adapt to a dynamic inpatient environment to support optimum patient care and team depth.

Schedule & Hours

• Requires availability for daytime and weekend shifts based on CICU scheduling needs.
• Total clinical hours are aligned with pediatric hospitalist standards across Seattle Children's sites.

Required Education and Experience

• MD Degree.
• Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
• Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children's, and assigned medical center(s).
• Required Credentials: Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington or State within WAMI region. Federal DEA Registration. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire (only if required for special privileges). Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment. Preferred Experience in pediatric emergency medicine.

Compensation Range

$222,712 - $267,391 per year

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
