Position Summary 

The IT Coordinator  Support role is responsible for managing and maintaining both IT infrastructure and laboratory  instrument software to ensure smooth operations and data integrity. This includes troubleshooting technical issues,  supporting system upgrades, and coordinating with offsite IT teams and vendors. The position also involves providing user  support, managing inventory, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with regulatory  standards. 

What You Will Do

• Maintain and monitor local in-house servers, Internet infrastructure, and related equipment (e.g., switches, panels, cabling).
• Coordinate software and system upgrades to ensure the continuous functionality of laboratory instruments and the integrity of test data.
• Procure IT-related equipment (e.g., computers, cables, accessories) for laboratory and office use.
• Manage IT and electrical inventory, including cords, backup batteries, cables, and printers.
• Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support for computers, headsets, software, printers, SharePoint, and other technical tools used in both the laboratory and office environments.
• Work closely with offsite IT teams and instrument vendors to resolve issues related to software, instrument connectivity, and system configurations.
• File support tickets for issues such as user lockouts, software installations, new computer assignments, and technical troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with HR, offsite IT, and department heads to ensure new employees are provided with the necessary equipment, workstations, and account setups.
• Administer user accounts, manage data archiving, and troubleshoot issues related to instrument software.
• Assist the Engineering team with software and electrical troubleshooting, including calibrations and vendor coordination.
• Manage and troubleshoot software for laboratory instruments, including Scan RDI and Empower systems.
• Assist with the Laboratory Environmental Monitoring System (LIMS), including user management, alarm handling, email notifications, and archiving process for Scan RDI and Empower server data, ensuring smooth data transfer to cloud servers.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Quality teams to manage and troubleshoot critical systems, such as Scan RDI and Empower.
• Support the addressing of any excursions and archiving process for Scan RDI and Empower server data, ensuring smooth data transfer to cloud servers.
• Support the maintenance and updates of laboratory software to ensure compliance with operational standards and maintain data integrity.
• Participate in continuous system improvements and implement best practices to enhance the laboratory's IT infrastructure.
• Adhere to and support company cybersecurity policies.
• Participate in the creation and completion of IT-related projects.
• Research solutions using available information resources and advise users on the appropriate actions.
• Actively participate in IT projects that fall outside the scope of help desk tickets.
• Inform management of recurring issues or potential improvements.
• Stay up to date with system information, changes, and updates.

Who You Are  

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
• 2–5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, laboratory IT, or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience supporting servers, network infrastructure, switches, printers, workstations, and other IT hardware.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows-based systems, software applications, user accounts, connectivity issues, and peripheral devices.
• Experience supporting or administering laboratory instrument software, LIMS, or other laboratory information systems preferred.
• Familiarity with Empower, Scan RDI, LIMS, or similar laboratory instrument/data management systems strongly preferred.
• Experience working with laboratory instruments, instrument connectivity, data transfer, software configuration, and system upgrades is highly desirable.
• Understanding of data integrity, electronic records, system access controls, audit trails, data archiving, and regulated laboratory environments.
• Familiarity with GxP, FDA, cGMP, GLP, 21 CFR Part 11, or similar regulatory requirements preferred.
• Experience working with Quality, Engineering, laboratory operations, HR, vendors, and offsite IT teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues independently and escalate appropriately.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, support users in a fast-paced laboratory environment, and respond effectively to system or instrument issues.
• Experience with IT inventory management, equipment procurement, asset tracking, and vendor coordination.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Windows, networking fundamentals, cloud systems, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience with ticketing/help-desk systems and documenting technical issues and resolutions.
• Ability to coordinate new-hire IT onboarding, including hardware, software, accounts, workstations, and system access.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly when handling laboratory data, system configurations, access permissions, and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to research technical issues, identify solutions, document findings, and communicate recommendations to management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while maintaining a high level of ownership and accountability.
• Ability to support cybersecurity policies, system controls, and data protection requirements.
• Willingness and ability to participate in IT projects, system implementations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
