$19 to $20 per hour depending on experience

Blending Operator – Job Description (Food Production)

A Blending Operator is responsible for preparing, mixing, and processing food products according to company formulas, safety standards, and quality specifications in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to batch recipes and production schedules
• Operate blending, mixing, and processing equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety regulations at all times
• Monitor product consistency, texture, and quality during blending processes
• Record batch information, ingredient usage, and production data accurately
• Ensure proper food handling, including allergen control and cross-contamination prevention
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work areas
• Perform equipment checks and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs
• Work closely with quality assurance and FSQ teams to meet product standards
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required PPE

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed recipes and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic math skills for measuring and batching ingredients
• Ability to lift and move materials (often 25–50 lbs)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled production environment
• Team-oriented with good communication skills
• Previous food production or manufacturing experience preferred

Preferred (But Not Always Required)

• Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)
• Experience with food safety regulations (FDA/USDA standards)
• Familiarity with industrial mixing or batching equipment

Work Environment

• Food manufacturing facility (may include cold, wet, or hot conditions)
• Standing for long periods
• Repetitive motions and physical activity
• Strict hygiene and safety requirements
