Title: Operations Manager

Location: Greenpoint, NY

Pay: $175,000-$190,000 + 15% annual bonus - Full-time benefits including 401k w/ match, medical/dental/vision, STD, LTD, Life Insurance, etc.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am-2:30pm with some flexibility

Job Description:
A Power Plant Operations Manager directs daily activities at an energy generation facility, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant production. Responsibilities include leading personnel, optimizing plant performance (natural gas, renewable, etc.), managing budgets, and ensuring environmental and safety regulation adherence. This role requires extensive technical experience and typically a bachelor's degree in engineering.


Core Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations, including overseeing operators, technicians, and engineers to ensure efficient electricity generation.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations (OSHA), environmental permits, and industry standards.
• Implement maintenance programs (preventative/predictive) to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Manage the operational and capital budgets, controlling expenditures.
• Hire, train, and manage the performance of staff, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Utilize SCADA and plant control systems to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Coordinate and execute scheduled and forced outages.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical preferred) or a related technical field preferred, NOT required.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
