About This Role

Full-Time Floater & School-Age Teacher/Driver

ONE FULL-TIME POSITION | Monday–Friday | 9:30 AM–6:30 PM

PLEASE NOTE: This is one continuous 9:30 AM–6:30 PM shift (with a lunch break). This is NOT a part-time or 9:30 AM–2:30 PM position. Applicants must be available for the entire shift, Monday through Friday.

Shining Stars Academy is looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring teacher to join our team. This is a full-time position where your responsibilities change throughout the day.

Your full shift is 9:30 AM–6:30 PM:

• From 9:30 AM–2:30 PM , you will work as a floater throughout our child care center, supporting classrooms where needed, helping maintain ratios, assisting teachers, engaging with children, and supporting daily classroom routines.
• At 2:30 PM , you will transition to our school-age program. You will drive our school van to pick up elementary-aged students from local schools, safely transport them back to Shining Stars Academy, and supervise and engage with the school-age group until the end of your shift at 6:30 PM .

You are expected to work BOTH portions of the day as part of the same position and shift.

Because this position is responsible for transporting children, applicants must be  at least 25 years old and have a valid driver's license.

We're looking for someone who is reliable, patient, professional, and genuinely enjoys working with children. This role is essential to our daily operations, particularly our afternoon school pickups, so consistent attendance and punctuality are a must.

As part of our team, you will:

• Support classrooms and teachers throughout the center during the first portion of your shift
• Safely pick up and transport elementary-aged children from local schools each afternoon
• Supervise and engage school-age children until family pickup
• Provide children with a safe, loving, clean, nurturing, and engaging environment
• Assist with classroom routines, meals, cleaning, diapering, and caregiving responsibilities when supporting younger classrooms
• Help implement lesson plans and age-appropriate educational activities
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Maintain active supervision and follow all safety procedures
• Participate in required training and professional development
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute to a supportive team environment

• Be 25 years of age or older
• Have a  valid driver's license and be comfortable driving a school van
• Be available for the  ENTIRE 9:30 AM–6:30 PM shift, Monday through Friday
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Pass all required background checks and clearances
• Obtain/maintain CPR and First Aid certification as required
• Be dependable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance
• Be able to lift up to 35 lbs. throughout the day
• Follow Texas child care licensing requirements and Shining Stars Academy policies and procedures
• Maintain professionalism with children, families, coworkers, and school staff
• Be flexible and comfortable supporting multiple classrooms and age groups
• Bring positive energy, patience, and a team-first attitude to work each day
