Potelco, Inc. is looking to add an experienced Field Mechanic to join their team in Redmond, WA.The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pmThe hourly rate for this union role is $44.46/hrWhat You'll DoThe Mechanic works under general supervision within existing guidelines such as standard operating procedures, technical manuals, blueprints and schematicsThis position performs routine maintenance and preventive maintenance independentlyInspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical, electrical and hydraulic defects in gasoline, diesel, LNG, and electric-powered equipment such as automobiles, trucks, backhoes, vactors, and other special equipment associated with transmission, distribution, and construction tradesInspects, troubleshoots, adjusts, repairs, and tests air and hydraulic brake systems and supporting components.Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests light and heavy-duty chassis frames, steering, suspension systems, and supporting components.Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests manual and automatic transmissions, clutches, linkages, shift controls, and power takeoffs.Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests light and heavy-duty rear-end assembly differentials, universal joints, and drive lines.Aligns wheels, adjusts brakes, and performs other mechanical or electrical adjustmentsOpens works orders; accurately enters time worked, materials used, and provides detailed repair notes; closes work ordersPerforms scheduled preventive maintenance and regulatory inspections on vehicles and equipmentUtilizes computerized diagnostic equipment to determine repairs and maintenance requiredRoad tests vehicles, as necessary, to verify compliance with safety standards and regulatory repairsPerforms other related duties of a comparable level/type as assignedWhat You'll BringThe ability to work in a team environment that interacts effectively with customers and parts staff is requiredRequires four years working under a journey-level automotive mechanic or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the examples of work listed abovePass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.Must possess the standard tools of the trade.What You'll GetThis is a union position with employer paid medical premiums.Pay: $44.46 per hourDental insuranceHealth insuranceRetirement planVision insuranceCompensation RangeThe anticipated compensation for this position is USD $44.46/Hr. - depending on experience and qualifications.Equal Opportunity EmployerAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
