You will serve as a Purchasing Agent and be responsible for administering simplified acquisitions of all types, including commercial contract, for the UDC and the Clothing Designs and Technical Office (CDTO), purchasing supplies, services and equipment related to the uniform manufacturing and/or distribution program. .

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

• Research vendors and obtain quotes for uniform purchases.
• Process purchase requests and procurement actions.
• Award purchase orders and contracts for supplies and services.
• Track procurement actions and maintain purchasing records.
• Resolve purchasing issues and support customer needs.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-08 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

• Purchasing supplies, services, or equipment to support organizational needs.
• Researching vendors and obtaining price quotes for purchases.
• Maintaining purchasing records and documentation.
• Comparing vendor quotes to identify the best value.
• Resolving purchasing issues and following procurement policies.
