FOOD ADMINISTRATOR I, CF - SAN QUENTIN REHABILITATION CENTER

Food Administrator I, Correctional Facility Location: San Quintín Rehabilitation Center (SQ), San Quintín, CA, Marin County. Position under the direction of the Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II. The Food Administrator I, CF plans, organizes, and directs all food service and dietary activities in a correctional facility health care program. Responsibilities include: Working with clinical personnel on nutrition assessments, dietary interventions and strategies. Planning and preparing dietary menus per clinical instruction. Developing and applying standards and procedures governing the operation of the food service department. Estimating food requirements and directing the preparation and service of food in accordance with the State food control system. Inspecting food facilities for compliance with sanitary, safety, and housekeeping standards. Conducting in-service training programs for food service staff. Maintaining order and supervising the conduct of incarcerated persons, ensuring safety of persons and property. Minimum Qualifications I One year of experience in California state service performing the duties of a dietitian. II One year of experience in a hospital as a dietitian, nutritionist, or food service manager, with responsibility for the technical direction of a group of diet pantry employees; education equivalent to graduation from college and completion of an approved internship in institutional management or dietetics. III Three years of experience as a dietitian, nutritionist, or food service manager with responsibility for the technical direction of a group of dietary unit employees, one year of which must be under the supervision of a professionally trained dietitian; education equivalent to graduation from college with a Bachelor's Degree in Foods, Nutrition, or Institution Management. To obtain list eligibility for this position, applicants must first take and pass the Food Administrator I, Correctional Facility examination (Exam Bulletin available).
