Accounts Receivable Specialist

Accounts Receivable Specialist
Pay: $20.00/hour Location: Norfolk, VA Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Position Type: Temporary PeopleShare is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a busy finance department. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, collecting outstanding balances, processing adjustments and refunds, and resolving payment discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Review and monitor customer accounts for outstanding balances
- Contact customers regarding current and past-due invoices
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies
- Process customer refunds and AR adjustments
- Create and email customer invoices
- Process credit card payments
- Maintain accurate account records within the ERP system
- Escalate delinquent accounts as needed
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve account issues
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Accounts Receivable experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (M3 experience is a plus)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
