This is a contract position.What You Will Do:Company is seeking to hire a person with embedded software knowledge. The Body Control Software team develops software for vehicle features such as starting, locking, lighting, alarms, windows, powered enclosures, and seats. The candidate will be responsible for the software in a body module. This means that they would have a detailed knowledge of the functional specification, conduct design review, help resolve vehicle/bread board issues, have 5+ years of engineering work experience and an understanding of embedded hardware and software design. Responsibilities include: Provide project management and technical leadership to the controls and electronics team Scope projects and identify resource requirements. Developing/reviewing project work plans Translate product requirements into control system specifications Resolve issues and/or ambiguities found in specifications during the vehicle development cycle Work with the FSS software team explaining software requirements Design state diagrams in Visio and develop Matlab Simulink models Work in Polarion to develop software implementation requirements Develop AutoSAR software components and generate ARXML with Davinci Conduct software design review with Suppliers Support vehicle launch Generate functional specificationsBasics: Project Management experience Understanding of embedded hardware and software design Knowledge of control theory and algorithm design Proficient in Microsoft Office products Teamcenter VSEM, JIRA, Polarion, and Github experience required Familiarity with CANalyzer, AutoSAR, and Functional Safety required Working understanding of CAN and LIN vehicle networks Experience in Matlab Simulink Experience in working with, and / or for, an Electronic Control Manufacturer is desirable 5+ years of engineering work experience Would consider less than five years of experience, if the candidate has a demonstrated working knowledge of the subject matter.3+ years of experience in Algorithm Design for Embedded hardware and/or software design 3+ years of experience with control theory and algorithm design via truth tables and finite state machines 1+ years of vehicle network (CAN/LIN) experience 1+ years of experience in Matlab/SimulinkBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of studyHow You Will Be Successful:Envision the FutureCommunicate Honestly and BroadlySeek Technology and Business “First”Embrace Diversity and Take RisksWhat We Offer:Competitive SalaryComprehensive Benefit Package401(k) with matching contributionsPaid Time OffEmployee DiscountsFree training on all Altair productsWhy Work with Us:Altair is a global technology company providing software and cloud solutions in the areas of data analytics, product development, and high-performance computing (HPC).
