PetVet Care Centers' New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center - PT Weekends Emergency Veterinary Technician Position Overview Join our team as a PT Weekends Emergency Veterinary Technician who supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include providing patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, assisting with feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records. Triage and stabilize patients Place IV catheters, draw blood, run in-house diagnostics Monitor critical patients and assist with emergency procedures Administer medications, CRIs, and blood products Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration Provide clear, compassionate updates to clients Help maintain a clean, safe, calm ICU environment Have patience and empathy to address client concerns. What We’re Looking for 1+ year of veterinary technician experience (ER preferred but not required) Strong phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills Comfort with fast‑paced, emotionally charged situations Kindness, teamwork, and a steady, supportive presence Experienced and/or credentialed technicians highly encouraged to apply. In the absence of significant experience, a good attitude and work ethic are also welcome.
