Experienced People Relations Professional / Investigator

Job Description The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced People Relations Professional / Investigator to join our Human Resources team. The successful candidate will provide professional support in people relations and special projects, respond to employee concerns in a timely, objective, fair and thorough manner, assess issues, determine next steps, and lead investigations. This includes planning, conducting interviews, gathering evidence, analyzing findings, engaging subject matter experts, writing a rigorous investigative report, and reporting findings to decision makers. The role plays a critical part in fostering a trustworthy workplace by ensuring unbiased, neutral responses to employee relations issues. Conduct investigations of varying difficulty and sensitivity. Maintain detailed, accurate records of investigations, memorializing notes and supporting documents in the case management system. Assume ownership of assigned cases, monitor progress, and ensure timely resolution. Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Additional Required Skills Demonstrated experience producing professional reports. Demonstrated experience communicating complex issues. Demonstrated experience solving issues and understanding compliance standards. Preferred Skills Strong investigation skills and comprehensive knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, NLRA, and FLSA. Ability to collaborate and maintain excellent working relationships by providing regular status updates to key stakeholders and maintaining contact until each case is closed. Experience utilizing a professional and customer‑focused approach to handling inquiries. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving to address and resolve issues. Pay Range $106,200.00 - $166,000.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
