Job Description
ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. This position requires expertise in caring for critically ill patients, with a focus on high-acuity cases in a blended ICU environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU/CVICU.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, making timely and critical decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and therapies as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment and technology, including baxter pumps and EHR systems.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care.
• Participate in patient education and support families during challenging times.
• Float to the Intermediate Care Unit as needed, depending on patient care requirements.
• Be available for call requirements as necessary.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience, with required travel experience.
• Patient Ratios: 1:2.
• Common Patients: Conditions such as STEMI, NSTEMI, COPD exacerbation, Sepsis, CABG, Valve repair/replacement, Acute Respiratory Failure, A. Fib RVR, ETOH Withdrawal, Head Injury, Overdose, Stroke, Trauma, CRRT, TCAR & TVAR.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
• Guaranteed weekly hours: 36.
• Weekend hours may be required.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 16 beds in the ICU.
• Supervisor: Direct supervision will be provided by the unit supervisor.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with high-acuity patient management.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.

Dress Code

• Appropriate scrub attire is required.
• Avoid any unacceptable attire as per facility policy.
