EEG Technician

Under supervision, prepares patients and equipment and performs EEG and evoked potentials examinations. Instructs and prepares patients and equipment for tests. Performs EEG and evoked potential testing on patients of all ages. Determines and selects recording parameters based on each patient's diagnosis or complaint. Takes recordings, analyzes data, and prepares results for the physician with assistance. Studies wave characteristics during tests to detect evidence of brain disorders. Completes checklists, writes clear narratives, and enters data into computer files as appropriate. Completes transcription and accurately processes physician orders according to policy. Performs routine maintenance on equipment. Promotes mission, vision, and values, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. May require floating to other departments based on business needs. May require being placed on-call during regularly scheduled shifts.
