Senior Scientist / Associate Director, T Cell Immunology

Basecamp Research seeks a senior T cell immunologist to lead biology strategy for in vivo cell therapy programs in oncology and autoimmunity. The role involves designing and executing primary human T cell assays, translating findings into animal models, and driving IND-enabling studies from bench work through regulatory interactions.

Responsibilities

• Own T cell immunology strategy for oncology and autoimmunity programs; translate program goals into concrete assay and study plans
• Lead translation to in vivo models including mouse and NHP studies for PK/PD, biodistribution, persistence, and immunogenicity
• Drive pharmacology and safety components of IND-enabling work; oversee GLP/non-GLP toxicology studies and regulatory authorship
• Design, run, and interpret primary human T cell assays measuring activation, cytotoxicity, exhaustion, and phenotyping
• Mentor scientists and build team capacity as programs expand

Requirements

• PhD in immunology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or related field; 6+ years post-PhD industry experience in cell/gene therapy
• Deep expertise in primary human T cell isolation, activation, expansion, and engineering
• Experience designing and executing in vitro potency and specificity assays with flow cytometry
• Demonstrated ability to lead in vivo studies in mouse and non-human primate models
• Experience with IND-enabling work including toxicology, biodistribution, and regulatory submissions
• Track record presenting scientific data to partners, agencies, and internal stakeholders
